I’m excited my short story “Good Deal” is included on the Honorable Mention list for the WOW! Women On Writing Fall 2018 Flash Fiction Contest.
“Good Deal” was originally written for YeahWrite’s weekly flash fiction grid back in October. To qualify for that week’s grid, my story had to have the theme “redemption.” It also had to include the sentence: “That’s a weird place for a goat.”
I’d been wanting to write a silly story about a goat named Red Angus, so when I saw that prompt, I dropped all my other commitments and started writing. It was fun! And I was thrilled when the story won the popular vote that week and received an Editor’s Pick.
I’m pleased to finally crack the top 20 in the WOW contest. My next goal with this group is to make the top 10. Maybe next time!

Hey. Congrats on this! I apprecate your writing style, it’s quick paced, whimsical, but connects to something broader. I have a new literary blog, and the writing prompt and concept is something I think you might be interested in. Check it out, and let me know what you think if you have the time. https://thenumber26.net/tell-your-passengers-story/
